The Ford Rander Model isn't a good vehicle to purchase if you live where rust would be an issue. My 1997 Ranger with 98,500 is rusted badly in critical frame and supension components. I've seen 4yr. newer Rangers in my state with
this problem as well. Ford did a poor job as far as anti-rust protection. I'll never buy another Ford product because of this issue. All can say is they used to build them much better. Also the tank straps on this Ranger are broken a huge safety hazard in my opinion.
