2006 | Dan C. | INDEPENDENCE OH | 11/09/09 | 2.00 | Way to many problems that should have been noted before warranty expired.Toyota quality???? BullShit | 2006 | Katie C. |
| 06/26/09 | 1.00 | At 38000 miles replaced the ECM; now at 52000, fuel pump needs replacing. Toyota has sacrificed quality for profit - | 2006 | Derrick T. | HOUSTON TX | 05/28/09 | 3.00 | since 2 months of having a new car, my brakes have been squeeking | 2006 | Norma C. |
| 03/20/09 | 4.00 | Just having the computer that runs the transmission shifting replaced. | 2006 | Peter B. | SAINT PAUL MN | 10/25/08 | 3.00 | A bit noisy on the road. Manual transmission squeals when pulling out suddenly and in colder weather. Belt noise on cold startups. | 2006 | Christina H. | ALBEMARLE NC | 10/22/08 | 5.00 | I am extremely pleased with my matrix. We purchased it new and with regular maintanance have never had any issues | 2006 | Steve W. | SALEM OR | 08/27/08 | 1.00 | 1. I feel like I bought a Ford. This toyota is pure junk.
2. The paint has chipped off the windshield post.
3. The tires were replaced at 22,000 mi. and should have been replaced at @ 19,000. Quality replacement tires quelled much of the road noise. It was discovered that the alignment was so bad from the factory that the adjusments to correct were taken to the limit.
4. Gas mileage sucks. In town is @ 21 MPG and @ 33 MPG on highway.
5. Throttle whiplash was finally cured fortuitously when the transmission sensor (?) malfunctioned. Dealerships said it was incurable due to engine design.
6. Seat rail just broke at 24,000 mi. and I weigh 160 lbs.
7. Overdrive is a joke. 3,000 RPM @ 68 MPH is excessive.
8. This car was made in Canada and not Japan. Is this the reason for the substandard vehicle?
9. The driver's door leaks air so badly, sounds like the window is down.
10. The sunroof leaks like sieve.
11. At 40K mi. the brakes are shot.
| 2006 | Song S. | BROOKLYN NY | 04/12/08 | 2.00 | I had my computer died on me at 5,100 miles and transmission has to be replaced at 7,300 miles. | 2006 | Tim B. | WASHINGTON DC | 04/09/08 | 4.00 | My 2006 base Matrix 5-speed has 16K miles and wears the inside edges of its Continental tires. The alignment is good, camber is modest, regular rotations etc. Recently I thought of a stop-gap solution to do before the edges are too far gone.
I just went to a tire shop and had them remove the tires from the rims, flip 'em over, remount and balance. So now the worn edges are on the outside. Cost $109. The tire tech was skeptical, but hey, I'm paying...
Two weeks later: tires are quieter now and handling seems fine. If I can get another 16-24K out of these tires I'll be happy. |
